Pulses processing machines

Pulses are a group of different leguminous crops which are in different sizes, shapes and colors within a pod. They are rich source of proteins and oils and are used for food and animal feed. Since pulses are leguminous crop, they help in fixing nitrogen thereby restoring the fertility of the soil. The protein content of pulses are more than that of other cereals and are equivalent to that of soybean.
After harvesting pulses are processed for obtaining clear grains for consumption. The processing of pulses involves grading, scouring, milling, sorting, de-stoning separation etc. Machines that are used for the processing of pulses are:

Pulse Splitter and Scourer ( Emery roller )

Pulses, grains when are harvested contains large number of husks, dusts and darts. They are cleaned, milled and split-up by using various machines like scourer, cleaner, splitter, husker, etc. The first step is clearing through grading, sorting and separation. Pulses are cleared of the husk by the husker or scourer and splitted by the splitter. After the clearance pulses are milled.

Pulse Mill

Pulse mill (dal mill) is an important machine for processing pulses like pea, gram, lentil after they are harvested. Pulse mill de-husk and split these grains and make them suitable for consumption. Pulses, before they are milled are soaked in water and dried in sun and then are fed into the unit for milling.

Semi automatic mini pulse mill: pulse mill is for de-husking and splitting pulses. It consists of de-husking unit, an aspirator assembly, and system for sieving. All the units are combined in such a manner that splitting and de-husking takes place simultaneously. Inverted emery is used for de-husking, whereas hopper is provided for the smooth flow of the pulses into the machine. There is a suction blower to suck the husk and the dust which are discharged to an outlet into the bag.
